Welcome to Buckscore™ where SIZE DOES MATTER! Antler size is estimated visually by wildlife professionals and deer hunters. While books, magazines, and record keeping organizations offer techniques to judge antler size in the field, nothing can replace experience. Trail-camera photographs on the other hand are currently used to gather important information about a deer herd, but estimating antler size from photographs is limited to a best guess. Buckscore™ satisfies the demand for an accurate tool for use on photographs of live white-tailed deer.

BuckScore™ was developed by researchers at Mississippi State University’s Deer Ecology and Management Lab. They recognized the management and research value of a tool that could accurately estimate antler size from a photograph and approached the Boone and Crockett Club for permission to use its scoring system. BuckScore™ is the result of years of rigorous development and testing using white-tailed deer data from across North America.
