Steve Demarais
Dr. Steve Demarais is a professor in the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Aquaculture at Mississippi State University. Steve spent 15 years as a big game specialist in Texas prior to taking over the deer research program at Mississippi State in 1997. “I feel blessed to be part of the Deer Ecology and Management Lab, where I can blend my personal interest in hunting with my desire to learn how to more effectively manage our important big game species.” Steve’s professional involvements include serving as Chair of the Deer Committee, Southeast Section of The Wildlife Society and Associate Editor of the Wildlife Society Bulletin.
