Emily Flinn
Raised in central Kentucky, Emily has always had a true passion for wildlife and growing up hunting and fishing inspired her to become a wildlife consultant. Emily earned her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) with a major in wildlife management. While at EKU she conducted a forestry project evaluating plant response to timber harvest. She also was employed by EKU to construct a trail map for recreational purposes using GIS. Also under the direction of Dr. Steve Demarais at Mississippi State University (MSU), Emily received her Master of Science (M.S.) in wildlife and fisheries science with a focus on white-tailed deer management. Her project examined regional effects on deer antler and body size variation throughout Mississippi. The objectives of this project were to produce beneficial information for biologists, land managers, and hunters that would aid them in understanding the role of nutrition and genetics in white-tailed deer management. At MSU, Emily managed the captive deer research facility that housed 80-150 deer. During this position, Emily gained extensive knowledge regarding captive deer facilities, deer handing and sedation, artificial insemination and the deer breeding industry. Emily is also a registered Wildlife Biologist (AWB®) with The Wildlife Society. “I want to provide sound wildlife and habitat management for land managers and hunters in order to achieve their individual goals.”
Emily currently supervises Buckscore’s™ Wildlife Consulting Division, for information contact her at Emily@nbfog.com.
